These special rates are available to non-profit youth groups only (church, scout, 4-H, athletic, etc.) with a minimum of 10 participants and includes leaders/chaperones. These 2008 rates are per person and are good 7 days a week from May 1 - mid October. We also offer discounts for schools, corporate picnics, family reunions, clubs, youth camps, and birthday parties. Please ask for rates and dates specific to those groups. For Winter, we have breathtaking “Guided” Winter Raft trips, X-C Ski & Snowshoe Rentals, and hot food packages! Please see our group rates page for more information.

River Rafting

For the ultimate in stability and group adventure, our 5-person and 7-person Rafts can't be beat. Made of extremely durable Hypalon, these Rafts are spacious, relaxing, comfortable, and a great "team booster". The best part about rafts is that they are nearly impossible to tip over (not a single Raft has tipped since introducing them 9 years ago!), making them great for all ages, and a relief to leaders and parents!

All equipment is U.S. Coast Guard approved and safety-inspected, and Type III Lifejackets are required to be worn by all participants. This is definitely NOT whitewater, however, the Sturgeon River does most of the work as far as taking the raft downstream, and it is up to each “team” to work together to steer the raft down the narrow, winding river! A very exciting adventure! Added bonus: All Raft trips end inside Burt Lake State Park! The Park has a wonderful day-use area w/ 2000 ft. of sandy beach, volleyball court, playground equipment, picnic shelter w/ tables & grills, baseball diamond, a 1-mile wooded hiking trail, restrooms, and lots of room to run!

*  Although our 1.5—2 hour Raft trip is our most popular, we also offer a much more challenging 3.5 hour trip for older and/or more experienced paddlers, (as well as a 2.5 hour trip in Spring & Fall only).  Please ask for rates if interested.

* Safety Video
An 8-minute "National Livery Safety System" video will be shown prior to all river trips to instruct participants in the basics of river safety, courtesy, and stewardship. We'd be happy to send a 20 min. version to you to view ahead of time!

River Tubing

AKA: Rump Bumping! The best way to spend a hot afternoon! We have a 1 1/2 hour or 2 1/2 hour tube ride down the crystal-clear, refreshing Sturgeon River. Since you only float as fast as the current, the Sturgeon (the fastest river in Michigan's Lower Peninsula) makes an awesome tubing river. Ending near Burt Lake State Park, you can enjoy your tube at the beach for the rest of the day.

Big Bear Adventure Golf

Try your ability on Northern Michigan's most challenging 18-hole Adventure Golf Course! With 11 water hazards, Big Bear Adventure Golf is sure to test the most avid golfer. Have fun as you play over and around thundering waterfalls, bubbling streams, and natural rocks - all in a beautiful, forest setting. Don't miss our mounted, 8 foot tall World Record Alaskan Brown Bear!

Miscellaneous

New this year! We've added 3 small, "interactive" attractions: spin yourself and up to 3 others on the dizzying "TwinSpin", propel yourself around on our fun "Roller Racers" or jump to your heart's content on our Inflatable Bouncer! Certain restrictions apply and tickets for these attractions can be purchased (for a minimal fee) on the spot by those who wish to participate. These can be run simultaneously with the Golf and Lunch (and also provide fun entertainment for spectators!)

Grilled Hot Dog Lunch

Let us do the work while your group can enjoy an All-You-Can-Eat grilled Hot Dog lunch in our picnic area. Includes condiments, chips, and drink.

Or...

We offer discounts on yummy Sub lunches and can even pack your SUBWAY lunch in coolers w/ ice so you can take a break at your convenience and either have a riverside picnic or wait until you end at the beach! Our “Packed Sub Lunch” is just $4.50 per person when already doing a River Trip  (6" Turkey & Ham Sub, chips, cookie, & drink).
