Located exactly 1 mile north of Big Bear (on the same road), the Northwoods Lodge is a 2-story log lodge in a beautiful and peaceful setting where rustic goes first class! With only 16 rooms, it has the quaintness of a Bed & Breakfast, but also the privacy of a motel.
All rooms are themed "northwoods" with log beds, log furniture, wildlife art, and even a pine tree! Room amenities include microwave/mini-refrigerator, in-room phone w/ free local calls, clock radio, and Cable TV. A Free enhanced Continental Breakfast is included ("cook-your-own" Belgian Waffles, coffee, orange juice, cereal, bagels, breads, doughnuts, and more!) A gorgeous honeymoon suite w/ in-room Jacuzzi is available, as well as Non-Smoking rooms and a Barrier-Free Room. There is a centrally-located, cozy lobby w/ fireplace, 2 leather couches, magazines, TV, "Up North" Gift Shop, and 3 log tables and chairs (perfect for playing cards or checkers!) There is also Ice, Pop, and Guest Laundry. Roll-aways & Cribs are available, and there are a few specific rooms that accept Pets (please ask).
Outside, there is a very large grassy yard, a bonfire area w/ picnic tables, and a small pond and nature / hiking trail. There is ample room for trailer parking and boat docking is available just 1/2 mile away on the Indian River.
All 1/2 mile - 2 miles away: the public beach on Burt Lake, the Indian River Golf Course, shops and restaurants, exciting Canoe, Kayak, Raft & Tube Trips on the crystal-clear Sturgeon River, and family fun / 18-Hole Adventure Golf, and the world's largest crucifix - the "Cross in the Woods".

- Rooms are available w/ 1 Queen Bed, 1 King Bed, 2 Double Beds, 2 Queen Beds, 1 Double Bed w/ a log Twin Bunk Bed Set (very popular w/ children & teens), and 1 King Log Canopy Bed w/ in-room Jacuzzi (great for special occasions!). There is also a Barrier-Free room w/ 2 Double beds. Full housekeeping is included.
- Rates: vary by the room and season. There are Sunday thru Thursday discounts (most rooms average $55 - $85, but a few can go up to $120 per night on weekends in peak summer). The King Jacuzzi Suite averages $110 - $140, w/ some peak weekends at $160 - still a great value for the size & uniqueness of the room!
